The summer of 2016 proved to be a busy one. Lots of dancing, choreographing and teaching! A summary follows:
- Performed in Massachusetts Academy of Ballet’s end of year show.
- La Jota, choreography by Charles Flachs (premiere)
- Was honored to take master class from Ramona de Saá, the director of the National Ballet School of Cuba.
- Listened to a lecture at the Corps de Ballet conference in Sarasota on the history of Cuban ballet from Miguel Cabrera, historian of the National Ballet
- Choreographed and performed in Il sogno d’Arianna (premiere)
- An Act Too Studio Opera Workshop Production directed by Melinda Beasi
- Adapted from the works of Claudio Monteverdi
- Taught variations and yoga at the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet Summer Intensive
- Attended a week-long session at Peridance with the RUBBERBANDance Group, learning their carefully crafted theory of movement.
- Took ballet classes from Billy Blanken and Igal Perry.
- Watched a wonderful program by Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at Jacob’s Pillow and was blown away by BalletX at the Joyce.
- Taught ballet, variations, pointe, and yoga at Capital Ballet Theater in Lansing, MI.
